NEW YORK (AP) — Soprano Anna Netrebko and tenor Yusif Eyvazov, one of the most celebrated couples in opera, have separated after eight years of marriage.
The couple, who met in 2014 while performing together in Puccini's "Manon Lescaut," announced their separation in a joint statement on Monday.
"After much contemplation, we have mutually decided to separate," the statement read. "We remain committed to our friendship and will continue to support each other in our careers."
Netrebko and Eyvazov have a son, Thiago, who was born in 2016.
